| From the 6th Sept – 21st
Oct. 2005 Deirdre exhibited work in Sculpture in
Context at the National Botanical Gardens, Dublin,
for the third year running. The piece entitled ‘Shadow’
comprises of a clear etched back panel, and a textured
blue and green front panel, cradling a delicate
filigree nest of glass that holds pebbles which
are engraved with personal text, as seen here on
the right in detail. |

In March 2005, Deirdre installed a 2 metre double
glass wall panel entitled ‘SPIORAID
AN TIONSCAIL AGUS NA TRÁDÁLA’,
commissioned under the Government Per Cent for
Art Scheme and coordinated by O’Daly Architects.
The piece is housed in the reception area of the
Dept. of Enterprise Trade & Employment on
Kildare Street, Dublin. The linear patterns of
this design are mirrored in both the sandblasted
back panel and the colourful front panel and reflect
the layout of the building and the powerful stone
carvings on its façade.
